Asics Women's Kayano 21
Right out of the box I took this newest version of the Kayano on a 12 k training run. With a great balance of cushioning where you want it and firmness where you need it, this shoe is a good option for the moderate to severe over-pronator. Fine for road running, this stability shoe offers excellent shock absorption thanks to a generous amount of Asics gel in the heel and mid-sole. A larger heel crash pad and improved support through the Heel Clutching System help provide a smooth ride.
Would I take this shoe on trails? No, although run through the watershed or the trails of Stanley Park on occasion would be fine. The fit is reasonable, although I found the forefoot tighter than the Kayano 20. The sock liner is soft and the tongue padding plush.
