New Balance Leadville 1210v2
It's been said of the Leadville 100, "Try running the Boston Marathon two times in a row with a sock stuffed in your mouth and then hike to the top of Pikes Peak. Done? Great. Now do it all again, this time with your eyes closed. That's pretty much what the Leadville Trail 100 boils down to." Now think of the shoe that would be needed for such a race, it would need to be rugged but comfortable, fast but durable, trail inspired but road friendly.
Enter the 1210 the shoe that bares the races namesake. At first glance the 1210 has a very imposing nature, Vibram outsole, substantial midsole, big toe rand. But look closer and you'll see a softer, comfortable side that comes from an N2 midsole and almost exclusive use of welded overlays. Durable and fast meet with the blended N2 and RevLite midsole, and a well lugged outsole keeps ample ground contact for extended periods on the road.
The 1210v2 is suitable for light to moderately technical trails, neutral to mild over pronators, and runs between 2 and 26 miles. And of course the occasional 100 mile race.
